Ice Breaker Games for Corporate Parties

The thought of a corporate party can often cause terror and panic in staff and employees. Fear of embarrassing themselves in front of the boss or boredom are feelings associated with the corporate party, which often causes a tense, unpleasant atmosphere.
To avoid creating an awkward, uncomfortable ambience, incorporate a selection of fun ice breaker games or activities, as this will unite the party and help everyone relax and loosen up. New staff members will ease into the party, while the boss looks around at his trusted workforce with pride.
Take a few of these ideas and turn your corporate party into a jolly celebration that staff will be talking about for months to come.
Find a gift
Prepare by purchasing 10 cheap gifts. Wrap the gifts up and set aside. Prior to everyone arriving, hide ten random (small) items around the party venue. These items can be anything such as, Satsuma’s, coins or pens. Instruct the group to search and find the random items. Those who find the items then exchange them for a gift. However, they are not to open them. Then, have the whole group form a circle. As the boss you will take the role of ‘caller’. You call out left or right for 3-5 minutes. When you call out left, the gifts get passed to the left. When right is called, gifts are passed to the right. When time is up, whoever is left with the gifts gets to keep them. This game should get the whole group excited and enjoying themselves. To make new employees feel welcome try and have the gifts land with them.Guess the baby
A few weeks before the party ask everyone to bring in a photo of themselves as babies. Make sure they don’t show the picture to anyone and insure that you know whom the picture is. Then with two boards (large cardboard pieces will do) pin the pictures to the two boards (divide the photos evenly onto the boards). Number each photo. When everyone arrives divide the group into two teams making sure that each participant is not on the team with their photo. Then instruct both teams that they have 10 minutes to match the employee with the baby photo. Whoever gets the most correct matches wins. This game gets everyone laughing and the photos become good conversation starters.Unscramble the name
Before the party, write down in big letters a bunch of scrambled names. These can be the names of celebrities or people you know (possibly the participants names). Once everyone arrives divide the group into two teams. Explain to the group the first to unscramble the name wins a point. With everyone settled, pin up the scrambled names one by one. The team with the most points wins. This is a simple, quick game that should help the guests interact with each other.Don’t let your corporate party become a dreaded occasion. Introduce your guests to an enjoyable, relaxed celebration with the help of some fun corporate ice breakers.
